Leslie Juby believes in building on our heritage by investing in our future.
As a resident of Kane County for over 26 years, Juby appreciates the incredible diversity from
small villages and big cities to rolling farmland and public green spaces.

"With strategic planning, we can promote economic growth, protect our natural resources, upgrade our infrastructure, and provide the necessary services to meet our residents’ needs," says Juby. "I am dedicated, committed, and proud of the community in which I live and wish to continue my tradition of service."
What does the Kane County Board do?
The County Board has many legislative, executive, and judicial functions. In a nutshell, the Kane County Board:
Adopts a budget and levies taxes to finance the services they deliver
Creates a strategic plan and enact ordinances and resolutions that address commercial and residential growth within the county, including short- and long-term planning for land use and zoning, transportation needs, IT, and building codes
Manages all county-owned property and oversees the 13 county departments not headed by other elected officials
The Board operates under a township form of government with standing committees specializing in specific areas like transportation or human services. All committees report their findings and recommendations to the full board.
Each Board member represents an area of Kane County. County Board 11 represents a sliver of St. Charles, some of Geneva, and a small portion of Batavia. Due to the census realignment, all board seats are up for re-election this year.

What does Juby want to focus on in terms of change with her time on the County Board?
“I want to make sure the county is deliberate in its use of economic, environmental, and human capital. I want to use my experience to make thoughtful decisions that will promote economic growth, protect our natural resources, and provide necessary services to our residents.
It's important to help the county move from pandemic response to pandemic recovery by supporting funding for critical behavioral health and social services by investing in employment assistance, housing opportunities, mental health, and addiction treatment, and food security programs.”
